I personally have always tried to stay active with the usual activities; running, weights, and body weight exercise at home. I did that for a couple years, but it was hard for me to stay consistent and motivated! My personal workouts always vary from 2 to 6 times a week, and some days I would say to myself, “ahh I’m too tired today, I will do it tomorrow!” and sometimes that “tomorrow” did not come until the following week! That’s how years passed by, until the end of January 2025 that I stepped on the scale, and I weighed ~222 lbs! It was when I decided to put the same focus I have given my family and job to my physical health! Because I thought about it, it does not matter if you build a good family and a great career, if your health is not at the same level to enjoy it for the long run! That’s when I decided to do research on my phone of gyms around my area, and that same day I came across an ad post on IG of The Camp Transformation Center in Elk Grove. I decided to send a message and within 1 or 2 days they called me and set up a trial class.
As soon as I went in I was welcomed in a warm and friendly way! They gave me a quick rundown of The Camp and how it worked with group workouts/circuits already set up for you everyday you show up, in addition to personal training and nutrition guidance services. The day of the trial class the member who is doing orientation will even join the class and workout side by side with you which at least for me it made me feel more comfortable.
I loved that at the end of the trial class you get a picture holding up a “Killed My First Class” sign with everyone who was in the class. At the end they check in with you and ask for your thoughts about the class. You don’t feel pressure to join, they even tell you “go home, see how you feel and give us a call! If you feel this was a good workout and environment for you, we will sign you up and you can start coming to unlimited classes.”
Since I had my mind set, I decided to join that same day! And for the past two months I have stayed consistent with 5 to 6 workouts a week and currently weigh 203 lbs! And let me tell you, the same attention/love/positive vibes I received the first day have not changed! The only thing that has changed is the way all the Coaches push you to do your best! They are all very attentive with everyone and take the time to get to know your physical capacities, they know if you are lifting less than what you used to lifting! They will push you to increase the weight! Even if you have to drop 2 or 3 reps. Another thing that I like is that it does not matter if it’s a class of 20 plus members or only 4 members show up, the Coaches energy will be the same! World class!
After being a member for about 2 months, I believe what keeps me motivated and consistent is the whole community (Amazing Fit Family) at The Camp. They are all very special, from the Owners, Lori & Randy, Coaches, and all members share the same goal of prioritizing their health which is why everyone is very supportive with each other because we all know how hard it is to practice and stay consistent with healthy habits, like exercising and healthy eating.
And just remember, EVERYTHING COUNTS! Good luck!
